After building the final mesh in Maya, I decided to import the .obj file in Strata 3D to produce the animation, as Maya has a more complex way of producing an animated video.
For the animation, I set up the lights structure, colour and intensity, so as to enhance the volumes and the liquid feeling of the piece. I applied on the mesh the different videos I made as textures, on which I experimented with different lighting, colour and transparency.
I set up the timeline for the animation according to the way the video texture is applied on the volumes. In that way, the movement of the lights and the changes of colours and video texture produce slight or sudden changes to the piece and add up to its fleshy aesthetics and liquid feeling.
I am setting up 3D projects for each animated texture, each one with its own set of lights and material settings. Once I have all the animations ready, I am planning to combine them into one final video.
