This weekend I visited the exhibitions of Athens Digital Arts Festival, an annual international festival which started a few years back in Athens as a mainly video art exhibition, and lately has expanded more towards the digital culture. This year’s theme was “Digital Pop”, as in the pop culture of today, which constantly takes a digital direction. Social media, memes, gifs, selfies, fake identities, information, virtual and augmented reality… All towards an continuously rising self-reported digital art and culture of a digital age.
The exhibition had a variety of different sections, from video and animation, installations, web art, digital image and more. Some of them quite interesting and impressive.I also like the main venue of the festival, an old building in the city centre which was renovated and opened for the event.
